On May 14th, 2008, Bill Gartner, one of the original members of The New Dawn, lost his battle with cancer in McHenry, Illinois. I have started to write this short statement about Bill's passing on the groups website many many many times these past four months, but usually just sit here doing more thinking and remembering than writting. Bill was a best friend and I still have a hard time believing that he is gone. He was excited and looking forward to the new release of the 1970 album in the next month or two by Jackpot Records in Portland, Oregon. I wish he could have seen it. The album will be dedicated to Bill and to our bass player Bobby Justen who died ten years ago. Good bye and God Bless my friend. You will be dearly missed.
